Within the limits of this trial, i.e. that it was highly qualitative rather than quantitative, I think it definitely shows that non-designers are helped by suggestions as to how their design can be improved. Even if Genoform doesn't give an 'ideal' solution, it can indicate a path to be explored further. I'd be interested to know if you're planning to develop Genoform further.
